Carpe Diem

Carpe Diem would be my moto. Looking back on my life I wish I had said yes to more opportunities for adventures that came my way. Which I do now.

While I’ve been into sport throughout my life and, like most people, I loved my food and wine.

I started to run to get a bit of weight off, and to compete in corporate games known as UK Challenge to represent my employers.

When competing in UK Challenge, a three day event that sets different tasks, including running and problem solving, I noticed I have a flair for running downhill.

A member of Ballymena Runners, Mark went on to run for Northern Ireland in 2003 and 2004, which was a pinnacle for him in regard to his own aspirations.

I enjoy mountain running, and especially when I summit a mountain and am contemplating my descent. That special moment when I peak, and am looking for a route down.

I like to be described as someone passionate about the outdoors, and who likes sharing my love of it with others.

And, never make an important decision on a bad day, or before your first cup of coffee.
